The Afro-American Council is
Reorganizing in All the
Towns in the Upper Sacra-
mento Valley.

 

MARYSVILLE, Oct. 31st.—Saturday evening the colored
residents of this locality will hold a mass meeting in the
colored Odd Fellows’ hall on C street for the purpose
of reorganizing the Afro-American council and trans-
acting other business in connection with the present and
future campaigns.
The call was Issued by Rev. J. Gordon McPherson,
pastor of Mt. Olivet Baptist church, who has been
stumping the San Joaquin valley for the Republican
ticket, and who left today to hold series of meetings in
Butte county and north to Redding. He says the colored
people are enthusiastically for Gillett and the whole
ticket.
