Jan. 12. \u2014-<br \/>\nSquire L. S. Moffit of Forest Hill, recently<br \/>\ncelebrated his one hundredth birthday, it<br \/>\nbecame known today. He has been a resident<br \/>\nof Placer county since the early mining days,<br \/>\ndoing everything from keep books to tending<br \/>\nditches during the fifty odd years he has<br \/>\nbeen a Placerite. Moffit came to this<br \/>\ncountry originally with Abe Reese, former<br \/>\nowner of the Paragon mine, one of the best<br \/>\nproducers of the early days.
