If people have a real relationship with a company, they want it to be with sales or service. That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n<p>For example, I have a great relationship with the service department of East Coast Volkswagen in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. I\u2019m on a first-name basis with the guys there, who know their shit and have earned my trust and affection by treating us honestly and well. I\u2019ve also seen and received the dealership\u2019s marketing materials, and couldn\u2019t care less about them. What matters is who I get on the phone when I need them, and how I\u2019m treated.
