We all know how Baseball newscasters love statistics. There are stats on most everything in the game and they make an otherwise ordinary event more colorful. One stat which they have not exploited is the stubble metric. Simply defined, the metric shows the player’s performance in contrast to the stubble on their faces, 1 day, 2 day, \u00bd day, and clean shaven are a few examples.
\nHow many homers did Billy hit with a one day (or overnight) stubble?
\nWe find that Joe hits into more double plays when he is clean shaven than when he has a \u00bd day stubble.
\nThis is a new look into baseball player performance. It could be expanded into all kinds of other biometrics, hours from the shower, last poop, and dander are some possibilities.
