NEW YORK, December 4th.
\nWhile the United States Marshals were
\nguarding an illicit whisky establishment
\nSaturday, a disturbance was created in the
\nrear thereof. The police were called, and
\nwhen they\u00a0 entered the rectifying house the
\nMarshals and police were locked in. Then
\nthe street swarmed with men ; an entrance
\nwas effected into the distillery, and the
\nMarshals returning to their posts were hur-
\nried into alleys and hallways by bands of
\nroughs and held there till the removal of
\nthe liquor had been effected, when the
\nwhole crowd disappeared as quickly at it
\nhad gathered. When the police arrived
\nthey found not a soul upon the street.<\/p>\n
