\t\t\t\tRECORDER’S COURT. \u2014 In the case of the people
\nagainst James Huff, for an assault upon Quang, a
\nChinaman, two juries have disagreed and been dis-
\ncharged. In the trial which took place on Wednes-
\nday, S. S. Goode, one of the counsel for the defence,
\nmoved to exclude Chinese testimony, on the ground
\nthat it was mulatto testimony, and incompetent to
\nconvict a white man. The motion was overruled by
\nthe Court, who did not agree with the counsel in
\nopinion. How the case will eventually be decided,
\nit is difficult to tell.<\/p>\n
