They tend to be urban dwelling and politically liberal. They tend to come from relatively wealthy backgrounds. They tend to be highly educated, and those who work at flagship outlets tend to hail from prestigious schools and programs. Reporters skew disproportionately white and male relative to the communities they are embedded in.
