\nler’s National Socialist party. The
\nannouncement states that it will last
\n“until Jewish life in Germany is
\nparalyzed.” Hitler’s government,
\nwhile not officially countenancing
\nthe boycott, is not expected to in-
\ntervene.
\nAt Nazi headquarters It was said
\nthat the boycott “Is a purely defen-
\nsive measure solely directed against
\nGerman Jewry as retaliation for the
\nanti-German campaign in foreign
\ncountries.”
\nAll over Germany Jewish owned
\nshops and department stores closed
\ntheir doors and were picketed by
\nstorm troopers.<\/p>\n
