No art of demagogism is neglected.<br \/>\nEvery prejudice among the multitude is pro-<br \/>\nvoked; every device of malice and falsehood<br \/>\nis adopted, under the maxim that all is fair in<br \/>\npolitics. Many of the people want to be de-<br \/>\nceived, and they are gratified.
