More Everything Forever by Adam Becker (2025)

As a tech reader, I did skip some of the book’s core, it covered things I already was aware of. Becker did provide good background information on some of the principals’ manifestos, early writing, education and influences. He also covers some of the people in the Effective Altruism cult of which I knew little.
His views on AGI and those who are pushing AI as a social benefit is worth reading. We’re in a position now where, when this bubble crashes and becomes normalized, you’d be better off understanding the hype and how it could play out.
He also shows how much of the current tech push is derived from science fiction writers dating back to the 1930’s and molded on more modern SCIFI, which is good to read, something you’d suspect but seeing it laid out and documented makes a case for the nuttiness of these people. Yes, they are rich, Theil, Bezos, Musk, Andressen, etc al, but they are also nuts.
